After watching parts of Casino Royale (2006) when I was younger scared me. There was a scene where James Bond drowns a guy in the sink which really disturbed me. There was also a scene in one of the James Bond movies that I've seen where a woman is found washed up dead on a beach which disturbed me also. I was also disturbed by another scene from the James Bond series where James Bond walks into a room and there is a dead woman covered in gold, I think. I haven't properly watched James Bond apart from these because every time I watch James Bond I have nightmares I'm going to get shot. I don't know if I would still be disturbed by the scenes now but I'm not going to risk it.
When I was about eight I saw a film that was about cannibals. I don't know what the film was about, or most of the plot line because I spent most of it shaking and crying into a beanbag. I remember a scene with a gun and some creepy cannibal ripping someones head off but I'm not sure which part actually happened and which part was imagined by me later on. I had nightmares for about two weeks after that.
One day I watched Taken with my friend when I was also about eight, I was terrified and I hated it and wondered why people wanted to watch things about that subject matter. I haven't re-watched the first Taken but I've seen the sequel and I still kind of wondered who would want to watch a story about a guy having to save his family who are captured and terrified. I also feel like the main character has terrible luck with all his family being kidnapped all the time.
The Chamber of Secrets movie in the Harry Potter series scared me for ages when the snake talks through the walls saying, "Kill". I used to think I heard whispers in the dark for ages because of that. I still love all the Harry Potter movies though, and now that I've seen them all so many times it's not scary to me anymore.
When I was small I saw "Watership Down" and the parts where the rabbits are vicious to one another and also the scene where they are suffocated by their holes being closed in disturbed me. Now I love the movie, but when I was a kid it was scary to see an animation showing blood and pain and distress which I had probably never seen something like that before.
There is French series called "Les Revenants" that I watched some of when I was about 17. I really liked the style of the filming but it freaked me out a bit, leaving me finding it difficult to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night in the dark for a bit.
When I was about six, my dad was watching Nosferatu that was playing on the T.V. in like a pub or something. Dad said it was a really good vampire movie but I tried not to let my eyes look up to it because Nosferatu was terrifying me and I knew I'd get nightmares.
Mainly, I'm not a fan of excessive gore and torture, that's what disturbes me the most.
