Dear Basketball (2017) is a short film that is an animated retelling of Kobe Bryant's poem "Dear Basketball". It was directed by Glen Keane and the animated style is really sketchy drawings. I really liked the animation but I didn't really care about the plot too much because I don't really care about basketball, but I thought it was a really nice homage to the importance of basketball in an Bryant's life. It won the 2018 Oscar for the best animated short film, among others. Lou (2017) is a short film by Pixar about a lost and found bin, and a bully. It was directed by Dave Mullins. The style is 3D computer animated. The short was played in cinemas before Cars 3 and nominated for an Oscar in 2018. I thought that the whole things was very Pixar-ish with the whole sentient toys/bully who has a traumatic past because he once lost his teddy-bear, but it was still a good short film and I found it entertaining.
