The Bear and the Hare is a Christmas advert for John Lewis. It was directed by Yves Geleyn and Elliot Dear, and released in 2013. The production designer/ supervising modeller was John Lee who also worked on V for Vendetta , Rouge One , Frankenweenie , Fantastic Mr. Fox and, more recently, Isle Of Dogs . The Bear and the Hare was made with stopmotion, and combined mixed media because the characters were hand drawn in a 2D cut-out style. It created a feeling of nostalgia and happiness because it was cute and had a timeless quality. I think it made for a nice Christmas ad because it was about family and togetherness.
