BSA106 Pink Floyd's "The Wall".

The Wall was made in 1982. It was directed by Alan Parker, Roger Waters wrote the album and the screenplay and Gerald Scarfe was the animation director. I liked the movie. I thought that it was quite an original concept. I found the story compelling and I like Pink Floyd's music so I loved the soundtrack. I enjoyed the way the story line jumps forward and back and the cinematography seems very experimental and unconventional-especially for the time that it was made. The main themes that I got out of The Wall were themes of conformity, oppression, depression and anger. I particularly liked the parallels drawn between how the rock star is taught to listen and conform as a child and when he tries to break out of it by being a rock star, he starts to be forced by his management to become what he has despised-someone who others conform to and who inspires a mob mentality. This conflict seems to drive the main character into a depression that he has struggled with since the loss of h

BSA106 Remakes.

A remake of a TV series that I think was a fail was the American version of the Inbetweeners. I only saw clips of the American version but of what I saw the original humour didn't translate well the second time around. The reason I found the English version of the Inbetweeners funny was because it showed a bunch of eejits that had very little redeeming qualities, with the only thing that really made them likeable being their friendship for one another. The British Inbetweeners was gritty and similar to the gritty lifestyle of working class British teenagers, it was cringy on purpose where as the American one was just cringy because it didn't have the feel of the original. Oceans Eleven is a remake that I actually did enjoy. I haven't seen the original but apparently its not as good. Eragon should be remade because it is from a series of books but I'm pretty sure the first book is the only one they turned into a movie and they left loads of parts out.
